Jessica Hill was born in beautiful British Columbia and has been happy to call it home for most of her life. Jessica has a B.A. in Literature as well as a B.Ed. from Thompson Rivers University. A few years into her teaching career, she chose to pursue a Masters Degree in Special Education at Vancouver Island University where she was able to use her love of story-telling to write a thesis that blended memoir and creative narrative with qualitative research on resiliency in vulnerable youth. She is currently on a break from teaching high school English and History to take on the role of president for the local teachers’ association. Her spare time is spent with her family, playing D&D, working with the local community theatre, and of course, writing.

She has been writing for as long as she can remember, though she only started pursuing more serious avenues to share her writing in 2021. Since then, she has branched into many different genres, including creative non-fiction and poetry, to challenge herself to grow as a writer.
