Chiara Laricchiuta was born in Bathurst, New Brunswick and was raised by Italian immigrant parents in Montreal, Canada. She is a proud Canadian with very strong roots in her Italian culture. She is a college professor in Montreal, Canada. She has been teaching English for over 15 years. She has an undergraduate degree in English Literature from McGill University. She also has a graduate certificate in TESL from McGill University.  In 2009, she obtained a Master’s in Educational Studies from Concordia University. In addition to teaching, she has been writing creatively for over 20 years. Writing has always been her passion. In 2004, she completed a certificate in Journalism at Concordia University and began publishing her work in The Bridge Magazine, a magazine for new students at Concordia. Since then, some of her creative pieces and interviews have been published in magazines such as Accenti Magazine and Corriere Magazine, two cultural magazines highlighting the uniqueness of the Italian Canadian experience in Montreal. 

When she isn’t teaching or writing, Chiara loves to travel to Southern Italy and spends all of her free time with her husband and young daughter.
