Sam Gardner, born in Reading, Berkshire, found his passion for writing and exploring themes around masculinity, gender, sexuality, relationships and societal pressures faced by LGBT+ communities in his early thirties after finding that his peers and others that came before him had meaningful stories to tell about their lived experiences. This can be seen in his emotive writing style. 

 

Sam has a true passion for advocating for young people that face adverse and complex challenges in his day-to-day work as a senior leader in a large special needs’ academy. His Masters level study at The University of Reading solidified the importance of being a well-read and research informed practitioner in order to work towards ambitious yet realistic goals for all young people.
